Distinguished Alumni
 

 

Javelina Nation – If you know of an alumnus/alumna who has achieved notable success in his/her career since graduating, have a favorite professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville who you feel has greatly impacted the university and its students, or know of a graduate from the College of Engineering who has become accomplished in their field, we want to hear from you!

 

Nominations are now open for the 2019 Distinguished Alumni and Faculty Awards and will remain open until March 15, 2019, and nominations for the Javelina Engineering Hall of Fame will remain open until April 10, 2019.

 

This is your opportunity to help identify alumni who have become leaders in their careers and have positively served their communities, honor those one-of-a-kind faculty and staff who you felt were instrumental to the success of so many students, and recognize engineering graduates who reflect positively on the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering.

 

Nominations are intended to highlight those who have undeniably contributed to the integrity of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Please nominate individuals to the award that best articulates their service. A description of each of the awards is below to better assist you.

Distinguished Alumni Awards

Are presented to individuals whose personal and professional accomplishments have brought honor and prestige to Javelina Nation.

 

Rising Star Award

Recognizes graduates of Texas A&M University-Kingsville who have experienced professional success and are within 15 years of their graduation (2004- 2019).

 

Distinguished Research Award

Is presented to a deserving faculty member who has shown superior scholarship through publication, continued creativity, the research impact on the field, and/or other academic or professional awards.

 

Distinguished Teaching Award

Is presented to a deserving faculty member who has shown excellence, intellectual insight and the ability to engage student learning that has life-long impact.

 

Distinguished Staff Award

Is presented to a deserving staff member who has shown extraordinary support for students and has engaged student involvement, leadership and growth for the future generations of Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  

 

Blue & Gold Service Award

Is presented to a deserving individual, business, and/or organization that embodies the four pillars of the Javelina Alumni Association. They are connected with the University and community, participates in events, has Javelina Spirit, and supports the values and mission of the institution. This award may be awarded to an individual who did not graduate from the University.

 

Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award is given annually to a faculty member for his/her outstanding service to the University and the academic profession. Voluntary faculty service is critical to the effective functioning of the university. The purpose of this award is to annually acknowledge a faculty member who has made a significant and sustained contribution to Texas A&M University-Kingsville in the area of service. 

 

Javelina Engineering Hall of Fame:

Is awarded to a graduate of the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering who has made a significant impact on the field of engineering.

 

Nominations sought for Javelina Engineering Hall of Fame / Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna

 

Created in 2015, the Javelina Engineering Hall of Fame recognizes graduates of the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering who have made a significant impact on the field of engineering.  The Hall of Fame designation is presented to alumni who have demonstrated longtime and successful commitment to their careers and communities and have brought special honor to the College of Engineering because of their accomplishments. The Outstanding Young Alumnus/Alumna designation recognizes graduates of the university who have experienced professional success and who are within 15 years of their graduation from Texas A&M University – Kingsville.

 

Nominations are collected by the College of Engineering and are reviewed by a committee of the Dean's Leadership Board. The committee presents the finalists to the full Dean's Leadership Board and the Dean for final approval. 

Nomination applications are announced in the spring and nominees are notified in May, with a press release sent out in September. The induction ceremony is conducted during Homecoming Week in October.
