Distinguished Alumni
 

Jackie Collins ’72 is the owner of VT Collins Inc. in Kingsville, Texas. Mrs. Collins has served as a member of the Javelina Alumni Association Board of Directors, was the past treasurer for the Javelina Alumni Association and served on the Javelina Alumni Association Board for six years. She currently serves as a Texas A&M University-Kingsville Foundation Board Trustee. She and her husband, the late Jerry Collins, established the Jackie & Jerry Collins Athletics Program Endowment in support of Javelina athletics. She is a member of the President’s Circle and was a Legacy Society Honoree in 2017.

 

Mrs. Collins is a member of the Javelina Club and was named the Javelina Club Member of the Year in 2012-2013. She has also served as the secretary for the Kleberg Texas Youth Rodeo Association for over 20 years.

 

Her involvement with the university, especially athletics, is unwavering. Mrs. Collins has helped host and organize the annual Javelina Club brunch to celebrate Javelina women’s athletics and solicited items for the silent auction at the event, helped plan and organize the annual football barbecue, hosts events regularly at her home, bakes cookies for student-athletes, attends every home game and regularly attends out-of-state sporting events to show support for Javelina Athletics.

 

Mrs. Collins graduated from Texas A&I University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics.
