In Memorial of Bryce Taylor '51

Bryce Taylor graduated in 1951, first in his class, summa cum laude honors from what was then called Texas A&I. After graduation, he and his wife Diana, also a graduate of Texas A&I, moved to Three Rivers and later to Alice. Bryce had a long, successful career as a high school band director, music educator and administrator. After his retirement from public schools, he served as an adjunct professor in the music department at A&M-Kingsville. Many of his students have gone on to be music teachers and leaders in their chosen professions. Bryce was honored as a Texas A&M University—Kingsville Alumni of the Year in 2002 and Texas A&I Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni in 2018. He was widely credited in a primary role of establishing "Jalisco" as our fight song!
